\Darla and Janet’s story
Having survived rheumatic fever as a child, Darla Insabella later battled high blood pressure at a young age. Years of medications eventually took a toll on her kidneys. In 2002 she was given two options if she wanted to live; living the remainder of her life on dialysis or receive a kidney transplant. As her daughter I was blessed and honored to repay her for the life she once gave me by donating one of my kidneys. Because of the transplant, her life was extended five years. We had five precious years of memories that we will hold forever dear.
