Cody Monroe is a 13 year old boy of Menasha. Not only is he a giver to all, but he was a receiver when he was five. His father gave his kidney to Cody. His father was then out of work and they had lost a huge amount of money. Cody's family then worked on creating something that other families would be able to enjoy. Their product was Cody's Law. In Wisconsin, if you give an organ or bone marrow; you can claim it on our taxes. The government will give you a once in a lifetime tax break. And Cody doesn't stop there. He has been in the Transplant games and bowled very well in fact. I plan on watching him in 2010 at the Transplant games. Cody also does bowling benefits to support the National Kidney Foundation. This year, 2009, he is supporting the Restoring Hope Transplant House in Middleton, WI. Cody knows firsthand what it is like to stay in a transplant house. He stayed in the Ronald McDonald House however. His bowling banquet is on May 3, 2009 at Sabre Lanes in Menasha.
One thing about Cody is that he keeps on going, even when he is down in the dumps. Right now Cody is in need of a Kidney again. His one that he received from his father was attacked by a virus. It tears at my heart to see him sick again. He is a strong boy, no matter what the conditions are though.
I am a friend of Cody and his family. My name is Hailey Sokoloski. I'm living my life, my dream, my story! I love you Cody Monroe!
